Bradford City FC Community Foundation invite refugees to watch the Bantams

Local community organisations have taken their seats in the TL Dallas Community Stand this season.
Local community organisations have taken their seats in the TL Dallas Community Stand this season.

Bradford City FC Community Foundation, the official charity of Bradford City AFC, are inviting refugees, and the people and organisations who support them, to come and see the Bantams via their Community Ticket scheme.

To encourage participation, the Foundation is pledging to match all community tickets ordered by refugee support organisations for free, meaning all ticket orders will be doubled at no extra cost.

Community Tickets enable local organisations, particularly those representing atypical and first-time sports fans from areas of high social deprivation, to attend City home league games for £3 a ticket. The scheme is designed to break down barriers of accessibility to engaging with the club and sport in the city. Full terms and conditions relating to the scheme can be found on the Foundation's website.

Foundation CEO and former City striker, Ian Ormondroyd, said: “We are delighted to introduce this scheme, which further underlines our commitment to engaging sports fans in the city. We’ve seen a fantastic uptake in the Community Ticket scheme so far this year, and I’m proud that we are now expanding it to encourage refugees and refugee groups to join in. We look forward to welcoming them to the University of Bradford stadium to help us celebrate sport in the city and cheer on the Bantams, for the rest of this season and every season going forward.”

This season, tickets for home fixtures on weekends have been housed in the all-new TL Dallas Community Stand. A dedicated space for local community, social and healthcare groups, as well as local authorities, schools and fellow charities, the Community Stand has quickly become established as a hub of both sporting engagement and community connectivity.

The Community Stand will be full for this Saturday’s inaugural Community Takeover Day, with a sell-out of 1500 tickets allocated for City’s game vs MK Dons. The Community Takeover Day will be a dedicated match day aimed at celebrating the Foundation, and raising awareness of all the work it does in and for the Bradford community.

Those who believe they qualify for promotional refugee and community tickets, and would like to keep updated on ticket availability, can sign up to our mailing list by emailing: office@bcfccommunity.co.uk
